Purchasing the Right Broadcast Video Camera on a Budget
James Rowe
10/04/2022 | 10:15 AM – 11:15 AM
1 in 4 adults in the USA live with disabling hearing loss. At retirement age and above, that number is significantly higher (70-80%). Although hearing aids and cochlear implants do a great job in small group situations, they are almost useless in large spaces. Unable to distinguish between what the listener wants to hear, and every other noise in that space, the hearing aid amplifies everything, making for a very uncomfortable listening experience. For most people that wear hearing aids, this leads to them withdrawing from that environment and ultimately leads to isolation. In large public spaces, including places of worship, there are four types of assistive listening that have the potential to completely resolve this problem. In this session, we will explore the four solutions, discuss the pros and cons of each, and describe the ways that assistive listening not just improves the listening experience for the hearing aid wearer, but actively increases attendance for places of worship.
